Your present council members are Greg Ardagh; Estelle Dicus, Deputy Mayor; Carol Francoeur; Greg Potts; and Paula Stalwick, Mayor.
Council members serve on a volunteer basis while continuing to hold down separate full time employment. I would personally like to thank the council members that have come forward and give of their valuable personal time to serve on council so that we can operate as an effective and responsible municipality.
Regular Council meetings are open to the public and you are welcome to attend; however, in order to speak to a concern, you need to call the administrator and get placed on the agenda in advance of the meeting date. Council meetings are scheduled for the third Tuesday of every month unless posted differently.

Since the Chamber was formed in 2003 we approved a constitution which was revised this past year to better reflect our needs. We have designed a logo for use by all community groups, a banner to use in promoting our community & a promotional display board. We have arranged seminars for businesses & community groups, improved highway signage and campaigned for cellular telephone access. We have assisted & worked with businesses & groups to provide recreational activities, as well as the beautification of main street.
It is important that all businesses as well as interested individuals attend this meeting so that proper decisions are made. The Chamber operates to provide direction for the business community to make Shell Lake grow which will in turn improve the economic climate for all concerned & make Shell Lake a better place to live & visit. As a community we cannot wait for people to find us so we must promote, promote, promote.
We would like to thank all who volunteered during Hey Days - Alan Stalwick who fired up the clay oven, Roxanne Diesen along with her sisters and nieces for facepainting and also to Larry Rush a newcomer to facepainting. Thank you so very much.
Please take note that the Wellness Clinic is to be held on Monday October 15. This is the third Monday of Oct.

Comments: Hi Shell Lake ,my husband and I visited Shell Lake again this summer while on a fishing and camping trip in that area. My grandfather,Reg Carter homesteaded at Paddling Lake, think now its called Iriquos Lake.My mother Bessie went to school in the area. Was wondering if anyone remembered them? We tried to find a camp site on Iriquos Lake but could not find one. We live in east central Alberta ,a little place named Hardisty, our claim to fame here is a huge crude oil tank farm that is under massive expansion now. Hope to hear from anyone who remembers Mother or Grandfather.
