Shell Lake school will be holding their Family Night on Friday, November 16. Supper will be from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., the games will run from 6 - 7 p.m. and the silent aution will be open from 5 - 7 p.m. The roast beef supper will be $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for students (k - 8) and preschoolers free.

The Fall Auction is set for November 23 at 7:00 p.m. This promises to be an evening of enjoyment. It's a great opportunity to find some great Christmas gifts and get some baking.. We need both items and buyers.
PWWA will be hosting a Christmas Party on Wednesday, November 28th at 2 p.m. at the Villa. Guest speaker will be Pat Grayston telling about the "Grandmothers for Grandmothers" project. Lunch will follow. Free will offering will be donated to the project. You don't have to be a member of PWWA to attend _ this is for all women of the community. Hope to see you there!
Shell Lake & District Chamber of Commerce lives to see another day with a new slate of officers. They are, president - Jim Palendat, vice-president - Dennis Simonar, secretary - Dianne Roberts, treasurer - Estelle Dicus ,members at large: Allan Stalwick, Linda Caswell, Lorna Wertypora, past president - Jean Zawada. There was a greater turn-out at the meeting Oct. 11 but room for many more businesses. The next meeting is Thurs. Nov. 22 at Partners in Worship at 7:30. Please support the new officers who are working to build a better community.
The Curling Annual Meeting is called for November 15 at 7:30 pm. This is a very important meeting. We have the finances to continue this year, but we are concerned about whether we have the energy to put in the ice and maintain everything. So we need people to attend and offer their help to keep the rink open.

The November 11 Remembrance Day Service will be held at Partners in Worship Church following the regular church service. Soup and sandwiches will be served at the Legion hall after the service. Everyone is welcome.
The Birthday Calendars will be arriving soon, watch for signs about pick up day at the Legion hall. The coffee will be on, cookies too!
There will be free clothing available at the hall every weekend in November.

The seniors are planning a KAISER tournament for Saturday November 17 at 2 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded.
Plans are underway for the annual Christmas party on December 2/07, which is open to all seniors.
Don't forget our Tuesday and Friday card games at the Senior centre starting at 7:30 p.m. Card bingo is now being held every Friday at 2 p.m. at Schwartz Villa. Seniors are most welcome.
Missing from the Lions Hall - a flat `Blue/Gray' dishwasher tray with the "Russell Foods" logo printed on it. This tray is flat and it is used for washing of cutlery. It could be mistaken for a bakery bread tray and used to carry items home. Please return this to your lion's hall or contact Lion Doug (427-2128) or Lion Corrie (427-4922). We look forward to an immediate return of this tray. A reminder to all who cater to events at the lions hall and use the kitchen facility and Lions Hall equipment and supplies, they must not leave the hall.
On Saturday Oct. the 27th, the Lions Club presentation of the "Colby / Shalaine" show was once again another huge success. We again thank all our supporters who attended this evening and were rewarded with one of the most fantastic musical shows ever. We thank `Big Pine Contracting' and Lion Glen & Charlene Sanders for their donation of the "Night at Home for Four" hamper, won by Brenda McNeilly, the 50/50 draw, won by Peggy Dafoe and the Shell Lake General Store hamper won by Courtney Wipf. Reminder of the Annual Novemberfest on Saturday, November 10th. Get your tickets early from any of the club members , Shell Lake General Store or Shell Lake ESSO . Tickets are $35.00 each and only 200 will be sold. Dance music this year is provided by "Jim & Martin". All proceeds will stay in Shell Lake for Lions Hall operations and upgrades.
Violet Duncan passed away on Sept.28/07 at the age of 86. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Marolyn (Don ) Pringle and John (Connie) Duncan. A daughter, Gwen Lalonde, passed away in 1980.
Brenda Doreen Lynn weighing 6 lbs. 8 oz. was born on October 24/07 to Lori Pitceathly and Adam Hyggen. A sister for Shane and granddaughter for Doris and Doug Pitceathly.
Sunday worship and Sunday School at 10 a.m.
All Saints Day is on November 4th. This is a time for us to especially remember those who have died during the last year. It is also a time in which all of us are encouraged to light candles in memory of loved ones.
Christmas Cantata: Singers are invited to join the Spiritwood Community choir to learn and sing in their Christmas Cantata. We meet on Tuesday at 7:30 in Spiritwood.
As in the past the Remembrance Day Service will be held in Partners in Worship Church. However, this year November 11 falls on a Sunday. So for that day only, Sunday service begins at 9:30 a.m. The Remembrance Day Service will follow.
Youth Event at Parkside: On Saturday November 17th at 7p.m Immanuel Lutheran Church is hosting a Worship and Praise Team from Luther Collegiate Bible Institute in Outlook. There will be a concert and youth activities. All youth are invited.
Mass in Spiritwood on Sundays at 11:30 a.m..
Sunday school at 10 a.m. and church service at 11 a.m.
Thank you to all who sent cards, brought food and offered condolences at the time of Vi's death. She appreciated so much all those who visited her at Parkland Terrace, thank you. ALS is such a debilitating disease but she handled it bravely and with dignity.
