The PWWA will hold their fall auction sale on Friday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m in the church hall. There will be crafts. baking and a table of bargain priced items - lots of Christmas ideas. Lunch will be available.
The PWWA will be hosting a musical night with local talent on November 26 at 7:30 p.m. Lunch to follow. There will be a silver collection. Everyone welcome!
Shell Lake & District Lions Club Novemberfest on Saturday November 11th at the Lions Hall. This year the music is provided by "Rod Gjerde & Guild" a five piece band providing music for all ages to enjoy. Get your tickets from all Lions Club members, there will only be 200 tickets available. This year's fund-raiser will go toward the capital cost of three new furnaces in the hall. Remember,- "it's all about the salad bar" and the rest of the great food and music. The cash elimination draw is just part of the fun. Come and enjoy!
The Shell Lake & District Lions Club remembers all our veterans on November 11th.
The Shell Lake School's International Heritage Night will be held on Friday, November 24/06.
Doors will open for displays at 4 p.m. Visitors may browse from room to room and look at the work our students have accomplished. Small items will be available for purchase in some of the rooms.
A roast beef supper will be available from 5 - 6 p.m. in the school gym. Preschoolers are free, students up to grade 8 are $5.00 and students grade 8 and up and adults are $8.00.
Fish pond, dime toss, prize walk and a silent auction will also be held during the evening. The silent auction winners will be announced at 7 p.m.
We invite everyone to come and join us for the evening.
The lucky $100.00 winner of the Lottery 200 ticket was Debbie Torgerson of Spiritwood.
The 2007 Birthday Calendars have arrived, they can be picked up at Flo Dicus' house anytime or at the Legion Hall on Friday, November 24 from 12:30 - 2 p.m. Complementary coffee and cookies will be served.
October was a busy month with a Kaiser tournament held on October 14. First place winner for the gents was Peter Easkin, second place winner Alf Primeau. Ladies first place winner was shared by Clara Crawford & Sally Hutchkowski, second went to Minnie Parchoma. The 50/50 winner was Peter Easkin with door prize taken by John Neufeld.
Mark December 3 on your calendar for the annual Seniors' Christmas supper. This is for all members and anyone who is 65 or over.

Wellness Clinic (Schwartz Villa) scheduled for November 13. Don't forget the birthday/ anniversary party on November 20. Guest speaker Bev Dougan,supervisor for Home Care. Topic of discussion will be the new program available for home care.
All Seniors are invited to attend the pot luck/monthly meeting supper being held on November 27.
Don't forget the Thursday morning pool games where you can also get a cup of coffee.
The can / bottle boxes have been cleaned out. The proceeds from the sale of cans and bottles is put toward plants and plant supplies for the rock garden. Just a reminder though that the collection boxes are only for drink cans and bottles not for garbage.
Once again, curling season is upon us. There will be a general meeting on November 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the curling rink. We encourage all present and new members or volunteers to attend for an update on last years' success. We would also appreciate any new ideas from anyone interested.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, donated books, and to those who supported and donated to our fund-raisers. Open hours are Tuesdays 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Help keep our book circulation up and our library open. Come in and borrow books and use the public computers.
Happy birthday wishes to Peggy Davidson who turned 90 years on October 27!
Olga Malyk passed away on Sept. 30/06 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her husband Richard, in 1999. They had lived in the Woodhill district, but Olga had resided in P.A since the 80's.
Maggie (Peggy) Letkeman passed away on Oct. 3/06 at the age of 82. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Wayne(Lorraine) Saam, Dave (Marilyn) Saam, Sandra (Lloyd) Lang and Sharon (Elmer) Lammedee, 20 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard, and her son, Jim.
E. Margery (Marge) Hooper (nee Schwartz) went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Saviour October 13, 2006 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Alice Schwartz and her two brothers, Mervil and Clifford. Her grandfather, Robert Schwartz was the first white settler in the Shell Lake area. She is survived by her husband, Bill Hooper of Lethbridge, and three sons, Brian, Wayne & Kevin. They had recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.
Sunday worship and Sunday School at 10 a.m.
The mass will be every Saturday at 9 p.m. except for the third and fifth Saturday, it will be at 7 p.m.
Sunday school at 10 a.m. and church service at 11 a.m.
We would like to thank Stuart Simonar for the past four years and wish him luck in his new job.

We have sold Pine Ridge Cottages and the Laundromat to Brad and Cheryl Ledding and as of November 1 they are the new owners.
This community made us very welcome when we first opened our doors and we know that you will offer the same to the Ledding Family.
Best of luck to Brad and Cheryl, and no we are not moving away, this is our home.

Comments: I have been checking your great newsletter today.My grandfather Reg Carter homesteaded at Paddling Lake(Iroqua Lake,(sp)).My mother Bessie attended school in that area.I had contact with someone from the area who knew Bessie but lost touch as we move around a lot.My husband and I visited Shell Lake a couple of years ago,but could not contact anyone who knew grandfather ,if anyone knew him I would like to hear from you.Am trying to do a family tree for my kids and grandkids and would like to find out where he may be buried.
