Taylor Reed played second for the Rivers West (Zone 7) under 17 Men's Curling Team In Moose Jaw February 14 -1 7/10. Taylor was invited to play on this team from Battleford in December. They won the only qualifying spot for Battleford district to represent Rivers West at the Saskatchewan Winter Games. There were nine under 17 teams that qualified from across Saskatchewan. The top four teams at these provincials earned a training opportunity offered by the Saskatchewan Curling Association for the fall of 2010. After training the top four teams would playoff and the winner represents Saskatchewan at the Canada Winter Games next year. Unfortunately we missed the opportunity by one placement. After a round robin of two pools our guys came out in fifth placed. The curling at this age level was absolutely amazing and our guys played hard and made us very proud. The team consisted of Skip; Cole Tenetuik: Third; Garron Horn: Second; Taylor Reed and Lead Troy Harms.

First of all let me say thank you to Paula Stalwick for her time spent as a member of council followed by a term as mayor of our village. We wish both Paula and Allen well in their new endeavours. I was installed as mayor at the regular village meeting on Feb.16th. I'm sure this will be both a challenging and a rewarding task. As I told council I have been reading manuals and past minutes to inform myself as well as asking countless questions to our administrator. Paula also gave me a coaching session so I am good to go. I will endeavour to do my best.
The meetings which are held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month are open to the public, however, if you wish to speak you do need to make an appointment with the administrator one week prior to the meeting and she will assign a time.
NOTICE:
