Shalaine Mezzo will be on Telemiracle Sunday March 4 between 2:00-3:30 p.m She will be performing several songs with the national cast Saturday between 3-6 a.m.

Shalaine is a finalist in the international songwriting competition. There were over 15,000 entries from 88 countries. Shell lake School

We are continuing with our mission to keep Shell Lake School open. Some members of the community are giving a presentation to the Sask Rivers Board of Education on Monday, March 12. There will be a powerpoint and an oral presentation. The objective of this presentation is to highlight the vitality of our school.

We need your support, every letter, fax and phone call will help! Send a letter of support whether you are a student, a family member, a community member or a former student! We want a school for our future generation. Letters can be sent to:

Shell Lake Lagoon Lottery

February winners - William Reed of Shell Lake - $1000.00 and the $120.00 draw went to Stuart and Twila Simonar of Shell Lake.

Partners in Worship

PWWA is sponsoring an Irish Stew Supper on Saturday, March 17 in the church hall from 5—7.

Admission: Adults- $7 & less for children.

We invite everyone to come & have a fun evening with emphasis on green so wear something green & be in style. A comedy video will follow the meal.

Bring on the spring! Come to an evening of fine dining and entertainment on March 31. Appetizers at 6 p.m supper at 7 p.m. at the Lion's Hall. Tickets available from the Shell Lake General Store or members of Partners in Worship.

Shell Lake Metis Local 81

There will be a supper on Palm Sunday - April 1 at 6 p.m. Charge will be $7.00 per person. Meals will be delivered to residents at the Schwartz Villa if they wish - phone Blanche to make arrangements. Also there will be a bake sale all day and door prizes.

Village of Shell Lake Mayor's Monthly Update

Are you operating a home-based business? The municipality requires that you obtain a business license. The annual fee is $50.00. Call the village office for details.

With March 21st designated on calendars as the beginning of spring, you may be considering building a garage, a fence, a deck or addition to your home. If you are, please visit the village office and obtain a building permit and regulations before you begin.

Note to nonresidents: Garbage pick-up is designated ONLY for village residents, who pay an annual fee for this service.

The Village Office is open 2 days a week to the public: Tuesdays and Wednesdays -10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Next council meeting - March 20th.

Shell Lake & District Lions Club

Serving our community for 28 years.

The Shell Lake and District Lions Club invite you to our 4th annual, "PASTA NIGHT SUPPER AND SHOW". The date this year will be Saturday April the 28th, 2007, at the Shell Lake Lions Hall. Our entertainer is Mr. Martin Janovsky performing a novelty musical comedy show. Martin is originally from Prague in the Czeck Republic and has performed extensively in Europe touring with the "Prague Big Band" before moving to Canada. This entertainer is another continuing example of the Shell Lake Lions Club's commitment to presenting exceptional professional talent for our Pasta Night Supper and Show. Our fund-raiser this year will be for the Village of Shell Lake's new sewage treatment lagoon project. The Shell Lake Lions Club have recognized and supported the importance of our village's urgently needed funds to pay for this project. This event will once again be an example of our Lions club's commitment to our community and their needs. The Shell Lake Lions Club will be holding a "presale" of tickets and seating selection set for Saturday March 31/07 at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ticket prices this year will be $25.00 each with 225 general admission tickets printed plus the requirements of our sponsoring companies.

The Lion's Club donated a portion of the hall rental ($150.00) for the Nelson benefit fund-raiser.

New Bingo game format will start in March.

The Lions Walkathon is set for Saturday May 5th, 2007.

Next meeting of the Shell Lake Lions Club Monday Mar. 5th at 8 p.m. Come and visit us as the guest of a club member.

Shell Lake & District Chamber of Commerce

The Great Neighbourhood Give-Away advertised for June 9 has been changed to Saturday June 2 due to a conflict of events in another town.

The next meeting of the Chamber is Tuesday, March 27 at 7:30 in the church hall.

Shell Lake Curling club

The Curling Club would like to say thank you to all the curlers, volunteers workers and all those who donated prizes and food.

Shell Lake 50 Plus

The Kaiser tournament recently held by the Shell Lake Seniors was very well attended and enjoyed by all especially the winners. First prize ladies shared by Yvonne Diehl and Gladys Simonar. For the gentlemen first was won by Terry Alchurch with Clarence Dafoe winning second. Sally Tipton was the winner of the 50/50 and Blanche Crowder took home the door prize.

Wellness Clinic for March will be held on the 12th at Schwartz Villa.

A walking program can be made available on Wednesday's at the school. If you are interested call Phyllis Johnson @ 427-4727.

The seniors bonspiel is well underway at this printing so look for all the details in the next issue of HI-LITES.

The Lottery 200 winner for January was David Jensen and the February winner was Loewen Lowell from Saskatoon.

Alexis Zoe was born on December 30/06 to Tracy & Donald Beaulieu. Alexis is a sister for Desiree, Morgan and Aiden; a granddaughter for Marcel & Eunice Proulx and Rene & Diane Beaulieu; a great-granddaughter for Hazel Creary, Catherine Proulx and Eva Beaulieu.

Marion Clancy of Coquitlam, B.C. passed away Jan 20/07 at the age of 84. Marion was a sister to Richard Battersby.

Aldina Delisle passed away on Feb. 4/07 at the age of 94 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Yvette McCaffrey, Ray, Joe (Janice), Dolores (Ed) Watier, Harvey (Debbie) and Clem (Kathleen) and their families.

Harold Kjerstad passed away on Feb.24/07 at the age of 64 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his special daughter Crystal, his sisters Laura, Louise (Merv), Joyce and Ollie; his brother Arnold(Rhonda) and numerous nieces and nephews.
