Dear Citizens: The Village should be operating with five council positions filled; however, this is not the case. Public notice once again has been posted for two councillors. I urge citizens to consider coming forward and letting their name stand for council by picking up and completing a nomination form; nominations close June 13th at 3:00 pm.
The Village is in a growth stage and crucial decisions must be made. This is urgent and serious; as it stands now, if a present councillor is unable to serve, the business of the village would cease as a quorum would not be met.
Village hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m. Please note that the office will be closed June 6th, as the Administrator is attending a conference in Saskatoon. Office phone number is 427-2272.
Regular council meeting - June 19th.
Thanks once again to the Shell Lake Lions and sponsors for their generous donation to the Village Lagoon Project.
Mayor, Paula Stalwick

On Saturday the 28th of April, the Shell Lake and District Lions Club presented the 4th annual "Pasta Night Supper and Show." This year all proceeds went to the Village of Shell Lake for the new sewage lagoon project. The audience of 245 people were well entertained by Mr. Martin Janovsky and all went home satisfied. Martin was a new performer to most of our guests, and he was very impressed with the reception from the Shell Lake audience. The financial success of this event was in large part made possible by our many business sponsors. Special thank you must go out to Innovation Credit Union and Roxanne Diessen for the donation raffle of the T.V and the resulting contribution of $1145.00, in addition to their "Silver Sponsorship" contribution. Also we must thank Mr. Darcy Gregory from Scotibank Spiritwood and the "Team Scotia Community Volunteer Program". They made a contribution of $5000.00 toward the financial success of the evening as well, also "Team" members did many service duties during the evening event. When all the financial recording and expenses were completed by Lion Treasurer Corrie, the Shell Lake Lions Club were able to present Mayor Paula and the Shell Lake Village Council and residents a check for $12,675.00. Thank you sponsors and all who were sell out ticket holders for your part in this evening's success. Up coming Shell Lake Lions Club events will be for raising operation funds to keep the Lions hall open. The hall is very important to our community so we look forward to your continued support. NEXT event will be the Shell Lake Homesteader Days July the 20th to 22nd, watch for event details. On Saturday the 27th of October the Lions Club will be presenting a show with Colby Nargang and a special guest performer.
