Minor Sports Outdoor Rink

Shell Lake & District Lions

Bingo

The turnout for the Turkey Bingo on December 16th was great with 70 people all trying to win 17 turkeys. A beautiful door prize gift basket was donated by the Shell Lake General Store and Shell Lake Hotel. Free coffee/pop and muffins were donated by Glen & Charlene Sander of Big Pine Contracting. Thank you for your generous donations.

The club is still sponsoring bi-weekly bingos with a jackpot of $1,000 and a bonanza jackpot of $300. Numbers increase every 5 bingo's. The next scheduled bingo is Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. However, when the attendance numbers fall below 20 people, the event is a financial loss to the club and will not be held that evening. So let's bring a friend, neighbour or relative to the bi-weekly bingos to ensure that the club will host the event. Have some fun, win some money, and have an evening out.

Circle your calendar for Saturday, April 17, 2010 when the Shell Lake Lions Club will be hosting our "Spring Fling" or previously known as Pasta Night. There will be a menu change and our professional entertainers are Freddie & Sheila Pelletier from Prince Albert.

Thank you

We would like to thank everyone for the many things you did for Mom during her stay in the hospital and when she returned home. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Kim and Tim Calvert & family and Karrie & Don Derouin

I would like to thank everyone for the phone calls, cards and visits while I was in the hospital and look forward to seeing you now that I am home!

Joan Calvert

The Residents of Schwartz Villa would like to say thank you to all that take such good care of us - looking after the garden, the cleaning , the general maintenance, etc. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and healthy new year.

The Villa Residents

I would like to extend a big thank you to all the people who attended the school's family fun night. The support was overwhelming! I want to thank the School Community Council, school support staff, and other individuals, who put the whole evening together. Their efforts made the meal and evening a great success! A thank you also to the students who worked at the fish pond and dime toss, and to the people who set out their products for the mini-trade show. It was a wonderful evening seeing the community come together like that and the event will be missed next year. After Christmas, contrary to some rumours, school will resume and continue until the end of June.

Leslee Whalley,
