The Shell Lake Esso will not be having the Mud Bog this year. The bleachers that have been rented for the event other years have been sold, and without bleachers too many people would not be able to see. We have a lot of disappointed drivers and spectators and we apologize for not having it. Another year we would like to see an organization take it over. It has become a very popular event for Shell Lake, but also is a lot of work and requires many volunteers.

A sincere thank you goes to the three citizens that put their names forward in our past election, also to the citizens that took time to vote. The successful candidates were Estelle Dicus and Greg Ardagh. I would like to thank Clint Mann for his time on council and wish him and his family the very best in their move to a new home. Please watch for a `Call for Nominations' notice to fill the vacancy.
A huge pat on the back to the volunteers who helped make the 25th Hey Days such a successful weekend; also to the residents for keeping our community neat and appealing to the many visitors. Many thanks!
At the July meeting, final reading was given to both the Noise Bylaw and the Nuisance Bylaw. For a copy of the bylaws, contact the village office.
