Village of Shell Lake Mayor Update

In the upcoming months, Council will be faced with the challenge of balancing the 2008 budget. The provincial budget did not meet the requested revenue sharing dollars needed by local municipalities; therefore, the operating expenditures of the village will be closely examined and the required revenue needed to operate will be adjusted accordingly.

Thanks to our Administrator, year-end audit received the auditor's approval.

In the future, citizens need to be careful with snow removal from their yards, in that gravel and sand is not moved onto village property with the snow, making the maintenance job of grass mowing in the summer dangerous and difficult.

Reminder to pet owners: Please keep your pets within your own property. However, should stray animals become a problem, please write or call the Village Office. Do not take matters into your own hands. Village Phone: 427-2272

To keep our village clean, when walking with your pet, please pick up after your dog or cat, which of course is on a leash!

Mayor, Paula Stalwick
